Meet the team

Accommodation pod at school trip camp

It's our team who make it such a memorable and truly unique Rootd experience

The Rootd team walking through the woods

When children return from one of our Rootd outdoor adventure trips, we’re often told that it’s their trip leaders they talk about the most.

That’s because, for our team, leading outdoor adventures isn’t just a job, it’s a passion. And this passion is infectious. Our leaders get stuck into every activity, and children quickly pick up on their excitement for outdoor adventure – feeling even more inspired to get involved themselves.

Joe Regan

Meet Joe - Co-Founder

After almost ten years working in the outdoor industry, Joe has seen how many children miss out on the magic of outdoor adventures. That’s why he co-founded Rootd with Jamie — to make sure every child gets the chance to explore, discover, and be inspired by nature.

Sam our Rootd Camp Manager outdoors

Meet Sam

Sam loves a good adventure, and this has taken him all around the world, working on cruise ships, climbing Mount Fiji and even working with Santa at the North Pole! But most of all he loves being in the outdoors, showing others how to really connect with nature. Whether it’s leading our activities, hiking or wild camping, as long as he’s out in the fresh air he’s happy.

Meet Kai our Rootd instructor

Meet Kai

With bags of enthusiasm, Kai is great at getting children involved in our camp activities and making them all feel part of the group. He’s passionate about helping children to build their self-confidence through outdoor adventure and inspiring them to look out for one another. Away from camp, he loves taking part in paddle sports, climbing and any other outdoor activities he comes across!

The opportunity for our children to have experiences they wouldn't normally have. Every member of the team have been amazing and gone above and beyond for both our children and staff. Our Headteacher commented that Rootd were the best instructors she had ever had on a residential trip.

Meet Sam B

Sam began working with children as a swimming instructor, helping them build confidence and achieve their goals in the water. With a degree in Sport and after briefly considering teaching PE, he found his real passion in helping children connect with nature – something he now brings to life at Rootd.  Outside of work, Sam is committed to giving back, having completed the 100K Thames Path Walk for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, with more challenges on the horizon.
