Where children thrive in nature and make lifelong memories

School holidays are the perfect time for children to unplug from screens, get outdoors and have exciting adventures with their friends. And when they can do that in a stunning woodland setting during working hours – even better!

On Rootd adventure days, that’s exactly what they do.

An immersive summer adventure

Children love our adventure days for a variety of reasons:

The freedom to explore and be active

The sense of adventure and discovery

Having fun with friends and making new friends

    Why outdoor adventure?

We believe that having adventures in nature brings a wide range of benefits for children - from building confidence and resilience to learning new skills and encouraging independence. And they give children a chance to relax and have fun away from the classroom, making memories that will last a lifetime.

    Themed Adventure Days

Depending on your child’s interests, when you book an adventure day with us you can choose from one of our three themed adventure days.

    Wild Survivors

    Confidence and independence
    Environmental awareness

Children are fully immersed in the natural environment as they learn the essential survival skills needed to thrive in the outdoors, such as fire making, shelter building and outdoor cooking.

Their adventure continues as they’re introduced to the wonders of the British woodland through foraging or animal tracking.

    Adventurers Unite

    Teamwork and collaboration
    Problem solving
Buggy build on a Rootd Adventure

With team challenges and adrenaline-fuelled activities, children get to know each other and work together on this action-packed day.

Whether they’re building a buggy, navigating our underground tunnels or competing in the crate stack challenge, children will discover just what can be achieved when they work as a team.

    Nature Explorers

    Nature-based skills
    Environmental awareness

Ideal for connecting pupils with the great outdoors, the day encourages children to explore the woodland and discover the many wonders that can be found in nature.

As they learn how to identify our local trees, search together for their favourite minibeast friends or take part in a team scavenger hunt, children connect with the natural environment and come away with a deeper appreciation of the British woodland.
